The AYYAR motif tablecloth is made of Calico and is embroidered in Beirut using an antique embroidery machine.

Each item is unique thanks to the handmade nature of the work–slight variations in size, colour and shape may occur. The whole width of the fabric is utilised therefore the appearance of every product may vary slightly.
AYYAR is an ode to seasonal living – escaping the coast on hot summer months in search of a breeze and the freshest air amidst pine and cedar trees. ʾAyyār is the Arabic word for the month of May, originally from the Syriac calendar, it is commonly used in Lebanon and the Levant. It is the month during which mountain homes get cleaned and ready for summer festivities.
AYYAR is an eclectic pattern of wild flowers executed in Aghabani and Bouclé embroidery. Those blooms decorate the mountaintops of Lebanon's al-Matn al-A'la area, where the designer and her family spend their summers. In a spirit of discovery and documentation, the pattern celebrates the wild and humble gifts of the land.
